First Visit

Asian Brother and SisterOur office, in conjunction with our pediatric colleagues, recommends that your child visit the dentist between 18 and 24 months of age. Your child’s first visit will be so much more enjoyable if you are relaxed, positive and supportive of this new experience. Your child should be informed of the visit allowing them to know that our staff will always explain our procedures and answer any of your questions. It is best if you refrain from using words that may be construed as negative or threatening such as “shot” or “drill” or “hurt”. The office makes a practice of using words that convey the same message, but are pleasant and not frightening to the child.

Do I stay with My Child?

We are an “open” dental environment. Parents are always welcomed into all of our clinical areas to accompany their children. Seating areas are provided for parents and we encourage them to participate in their child’s dental experience. We will help to guide you, so that your presence will be of the greatest aid to your child’s visit. For the safety and privacy of all patients, other children who are not being treated should remain in the reception room with a supervising adult if possible.

We strive to make each and every visit to our office a fun one!
