Behavior management is central to our commitment to making your child’s dental visit pleasant and comfortable. We provide various sedation options tailored to meet your child’s specific needs.
Sedation dentistry involves the use of medication to ease pain and anxiety during dental care, helping your child feel more at ease during procedures. This approach can significantly reduce anxiety and ensure your child receives the necessary dental care in a comfortable setting.
The type of sedation chosen will be based on your child’s individual needs and your preferences.
Many restorative treatments can be performed using local anesthesia, often known as Novocaine, though Lidocaine, Mepivacaine, and Articaine are more commonly used.
These medications numb the treatment area and typically wear off within a few hours.
Nitrous oxide, or “laughing gas,” is another option that can be combined with local anesthesia to help your child stay calm and comfortable during dental procedures.
For more extensive work or if your child does not respond well to conscious sedation, we offer in-office IV sedation.
Note: please inform us of any change to your child’s health or medical condition before your appointment.
